Kel-tec RFB

1 Attachment(s)
Is anyone waiting for one of these?...should come out early in '08 according to factory website.

Kel-tec is the one on top...comes in .308 Win, three barrel lengths, takes FAL mags,

ejects brass out of a tube in the front...

Here is the video:

We just need more $300 assault rifles, not $1800 or whatever! :confused_ma:

Believe me, I'd love to have one, but I don't spend more money on a gun than I'd spend on a used car, and so far these $500 cars and $300 guns have treated me quite well :tongue_ma:

You would think with all of the new technology, we could manufacture an AK47 for $10 :rolleyes_m:

Re: Kel-tec RFB

Kel-tec prices on their SU-16 and SUB 2000 rifles are reasonable for what they are, I guess. We will have to wait and see on the RFB...

Yeah, nothing made in the good ol' U.S.A. is cheap any more..

SUB-2000 is a fun gun. I just used mine to punch holes in a new burn barrel. :D

I'd rather have the Para-FAL.

Re: Kel-tec RFB

I was just thinking about this rifle this morning.
It probably will become my only battle rifle when I scrape up enough jack to pick one up.

Early '08 they say.
Right next door in Cocoa, Florida.
Kel-tec has grown leaps and bounds. Kinda like Taurus.

They can ..... but why would you sell it for that when you can get more for it, and still sell everything you manufacture? 4000% profit is better than 10%, no?

Re: Kel-tec RFB

if Im gettin a kel tec its gonna be one of them plastic handguns in 380 that are light as a feather and about as wide as a the round itself. man I been wantin one dem for years. back eight years ago I opted for the naa 32 instead, poor choice, that thing is heavy as shite, makes my pants sag when i chunk it in my back pocket

Re: Kel-tec RFB

I have been looking at a few different Kel-tecs and have held off because nobody I know is familiar with their quality. Is the plr 16 the .223 pistol that is basically an AR-15? That is one I have considered as well as the pistol in 380 that Anty Ep mentioned. Any thoughts? Any experiences?

So what happens when the extraction tube gets a ding in it or clogged by a deformed shell?

I want to see that rifle full of sand and mud fire 1000 rounds with out jamming. Then I'll think about buying it.

Addendum:
The P3AT came back. I had returned it because I was finished with it for the purposes of the review. Evidently they thought I returned it for service and worked some serious magic on it. The paper in the box said REPAIR WORK ORDER Malfunction type: Jams. Repair: Replaced slide and barrel assembly, test fired.
I can tell you one thing for sure they did more than just replace the slide. The trigger is now about (I dont have a trigger scale here to measure) 6 to 8 pounds and breaks crisp and clean. All the problems with the trigger I mentioned before gone. If this trigger was on a S&W revolver, you would be well pleased and the corners of your mouth would curl up into a smirk. But this isnt. This is on a tiny little pocket auto. So instead of a smirk you would be wearing a big Cheshire class grin.
This is not the same gun I sent back cant be. I had to double check the serial number to be sure it was the same gun. Yup, it is. If I was a Kel-Tec owner and this was my gun Id be doing a Snoopy Style Happy Dance. The gun was delivered to them, according to Fed-Ex tracking, exactly 2 weeks from yesterday. They blessed this little gun and sent it back over night in only 2 weeks. That flat out impresses the hell out of me. Last gun I sent back to the maker, Springfield, took a month and 4 days. This kind of service, if this is what Kel-Tec customers get on a regular basis this raises the bar. Two thumbs up.
Now, I really dont want to sent this gun back yet I am obligated to do so. This gun, is not mine and remains the property of Kel-Tec CNC. Damn.

Looks like a great gun, nothing I'd spend over $600 on though. I've been avoiding .308 anyway because it's just too damn expensive.

my makarov is heavy as shit, the naa 32 is heavy, the 380 feg ppk clone is heavy. all too heavy. I need a nice slick narrow one and then I will be inclined to carry more often. the best gun is the one you have when you need it.

These are two VERY good points. Sure, it looks cool, but what if...

How do you figure?

I buy guns by how they perform in real world not by how they perform at shooting range.

Their profits don't concern me, as a matter of fact, I kinda hope KelTec goes out of business. $1800 for a piece of plastic? They're insane. Also, no need to tell me "blah blah, it costs money to design" and all that shit, I know. I just hate these patriotic made in the good old USA companies that don't care about anything but profit.

During the next gun ban, gun manufacturers should manufacture nothing but fully automatic versions of their weapons and distribute them widely for the purposes of overthrowing the dictatorship  But I'd be ok with them just not charging $1800 for something I could homebrew for $700. I'll just buy a mill I guess :rolleyes_m:
